Section 5(1) in Karnataka Marriages (Registration and Miscellaneous Provisions) Act, 1976
(1)The parties to a marriage shall, prepare and sign a memorandum in the form specified in Schedule A and deliver or send by registered post the said memorandum in duplicate to the Registrar or the area in which the marriage was contracted, within a period of thirty days from the date of marriage.
