Section 23(1) in The Bengal Tanks Improvement Act, 1939
(1)The [State] Government may, by order published in the Official Gazette, direct that any tank which may have been improved under the provisions of this Act prior to the commencement of the Bengal Tanks Improvement (West Bengal Amendment) Act,1948, shall, with effect from a date to be specified in such order, be deemed to have been improved in accordance with the provisions of this Act as amended by the last mentioned Act.
