156. Payment by ryot for occupation of land under preceding section.
- When a landholder elects, under clause (1) of the last foregoing section, to allow a ryot to retain possession of any land for the purpose specified in that clause, the ryot shall pay to the landholder, for the use and occupation of the land during the period for which he is allowed to retain possession of the same, rent at the rate at which the ryot was holding.
