The Supervisory Committee constituted in terms of the judgment of this Tribunal dated 16.11.2017 in Original Application No. 121/2014, Yogendra Mohan Sengupta V. Union of India & Ors., has dealt with the subject matter of this application, i.e. expansion of Cancer Hospital Block at Shimla.
The Committee, vide minutes of meeting dated 13.02.2019, found that the expansion of the Cancer hospital within the existing premises is necessary. As regards the potential for damage to the 1 environment, the Committee recommended expansion subject to the condition that provision for use of Solar Energy, Rain Water harvesting, Bio- Medical Waste Management and Evacuation Plan for disaster management should be in place, along with EIA report. In view of the above, it is open to the Medical College to proceed in terms of the recommendations of the Committee, subject to the said conditions laid down.
The application stands disposed of.
