Section 55 in The Calcutta Hackney-Carriage Act, 1919
55. Penalty for destroying carriage-plate, etc. -
Any person who maliciously or knowingly tears, destroys, defaces, obliterates or removes any plate, table of fares, drivers ticket or mark of identification which has been affixed, put up, granted, attached or applied under the provisions of this Act, shall be liable for every such offence to a fine not exceeding twenty rupees, and, in default of payment of fine, to simple imprisonment for a period not exceeding ten days.
