(1)The Government may, by notification and in accordance with the rules made under this act in this behalf, delineate every commanded area or part thereof, of a major irrigation system and declare it to be a project area for the purposes of this Act. The Chief Engineer may by notification and in accordance with the rules made under this act in this behalf, delineate the entire area of a Minor or Medium Irrigation Projects as the project area.
