Section 362 in The M.P. Municipal Corporation Act, 1956

362. Power over disorderly houses and prostitutes.

(1)The Corporation may, by notice in the [manner prescribed by bye-laws] [Substituted by M.P. Act No. 13 of 1961.] prohibit in any specified part of the city-
(a)the keeping of a brothel;
(b)the residence of any person who practices prostitution.
(2)Whoever after the date of the notice issued under sub-section (1)-
(a)keeps or manages or acts or assists in the management of a brothel within the prohibited area;
(b)being the tenant, lessee or occupier of any premises or any part thereof to be used as a brothel or for the purposes of habitual prostitution within the prohibited area; or
(c)being the lessor or landlord, of any premises or the agent to such lessor or landlord, lets the same or any part thereof, within the prohibited area with the knowledge that such premises or some part thereof, are, or for the purpose of habitual prostitution, or is wilfully a party to the continued use of such premises as a brothel or for the purposes of habitual prostitution; or
(d)being a practising prostitute resides within the prohibited area, shall be punishable with imprisonment of either description for a term which may extend to six months or with the fine which may extend to [five thousand rupees] [Substituted by M.P. Act No 29 of 2003, for the words five hundred rupees'.], or with both, and in the case of a continuing offence with an additional fine nol exceeding [five hundred rupees] [Substituted by M.P. Act No 29 of 2003, for the words 'fifty rupees'.] for every day after the first during which the offence continues.
