(b)if he is subordinate to the Jailer, be subject to the control of the Superintendent and also of the Jailer, and perform such functions as may be prescribed by rules made this Act or entrusted by the Superintendent or entrusted by the Jailer subject to the general or special orders of the Superintendent.
