04.   27.06.2018         This writ petition is for issuance of direction upon the
                   opposite parties to disburse ex-gratia compensation of
                   Rs.1,50.000/- on account of death of wife of the petitioner
                   due to fire accident.

                         According to the petitioner, as per scheme of the
                   Government, he has ventilated his grievance before opposite
                   party no.2 - Special Relief Commissioner but till date no
                   decision has been taken, hence this writ petition.

                         Mr. B. P. Tripathy, learned Additional Government
                   Advocate submits that Collector, Kandhamal (O.P. No.3) is
                   the competent authority to take decision in this regard, as
                   such petitioner may be given liberty to approach before the
                   Collector, Kandhamal to ventilate his grievance and if that
                   would be done, the Collector, Kandhamal will take decision
                   in accordance with law within stipulated period.

                         Learned counsel for the petitioner has raised no
                   objection to the submission of Mr. Tripathy.

                         Upon such submissions of learned counsel for the
                   parties and with their consent, without expressing anything
                   on the merit of the case, the writ petition is being disposed
                   of giving liberty to the petitioner to file fresh representation
                   before the Collector, Kandhamal (Opposite Party No.3)
                   ventilating his grievance, annexing therein the relevant
                   guideline and other documents, if any, in support of his
                   claim, within two weeks from the date of receipt of copy of
                   this order. The Collector, Kandhamal is directed to take

      decision in accordance with law within six weeks thereafter
      and communicate the same to the petitioner within the
      aforesaid period.

            With the above observation and direction the writ
      petition stands disposed of.
