        Prayer:  Writ Petition is filed under Article 226 of the Constitution
of India praying to issue a  Writ of mandamus directing the respondents to
formulate an appropriate promotion policy, prepare year wise promotion panel
since 1983 and thereafter implement the same with consequential benefits
accruing to the affected senior staffs of Tamil Nadu Newsprint Papers
Limited.

The learned counsel for the petitioner has given a letter, dated 20.09.2016, to the Registry, seeking permission to withdraw the writ petition. He has also made an endorsement to that effect.

3.Recording the said letter and endorsement made by the learned counsel for the petitioner, this writ petition is dismissed as withdrawn. Consequently, connected miscellaneous petition is also dismissed. There shall be no order as to costs.
