(3)On a gang returning to the entrance from outside, the gate- keeper shall open the outer wicket (the inner one being locked first) and admit the gang to the passage between the gates. He shall then lock the Outer wicket and call out the name of each prisoner and warder as recorded in the register. The gang having been found correct, he shall open the inner wicket and count the prisoners as they pass into the jail, to verify the total number.
