1. These petitions have been restored to file by a separate order. Learned counsel for the petitioner states that in connected Writ Petitions filed by the employees being Writ Petition No. 2335 of 2015 and connected matters filed by 41 employees of the petitioners herein and in Writ Petition nos. 132 of 2016 and 28 other petitions filed on behalf of the petitioners herein vide common order dated 29th February, 2016 this Court has directed the 4/5 ::: Uploaded on - 15/01/2019 ::: Downloaded on - 16/01/2019 08:45:41 ::: rrpillai 8-wp-1121-2017.odt employer- petitioner companies to pay closure compensation and lock out wages to the workmen except for the period 18 th October, 1988 to 27 th May, 1992. However, the direction to the employer to pay interest @ 6% was set aside. In those petitions the employer had deposited the amount directed by the Labour Court which the workmen were allowed to withdraw.
2. In view of the said order, learned counsel for the petitioner in these petitions states that on similar basis, amounts due to the respondent workmen in these petitions will also be paid over within a period of one month from today. Needless to mention there will be no obligation to pay interest. In view of this statement she does not wish to press these petitions. Statement is accepted. On behalf of the respondent Mr. More states he will enter appearance within a period of three weeks from today.
3. Petitions disposed of in the above terms. No costs.
