Section 27(1) in The Baba Farid University of Health Sciences Act, 1998

(1)The Board of Management shall be constituted by the Chancellor on the advice of the Government and it shall consist of the following members, namely :-

(i) The Vice-Chancellor	Ex-officio
(ii) The Chief Secretary to Government of Punjab	Ex-officio
(iii) The Secretary to Government of Punjab, Department ofMedical Education and Research	Ex-officio
(iv) The Secretary to Government of Punjab, Department ofFinance	Ex-officio
(v) The Director, Research and Medical Education	Ex-officio
(vi) The Director, Post Graduate Institute of MedicalSciences, Chandigarh	Ex-officio
(vii) Three eminent public figures to be nominated by theGovernment; and
(viii) Five eminent persons with recognised national and international contributions towards education and research in the field of Health Sciences, of whom a minimum of three persons shall be from Punjab, to be nominated by the Government for the constitution of the first Board of Management, and subsequently as provided for under the rules.
