Cr.MP No.999 of 2023 This is an application for suspension of the sentence and releasing the appellant on bail. It has been submitted by learned counsel for the appellant that the appellant was on bail during the trial and his sentence was suspended by learned lower Appellate Court during the pendency of the appeal. The appeal now stands admitted. There are arguable points involved in the appeal. The hearing of the appeal will take some time. In these circumstances, the substantive sentence imposed by the learned Court below is suspended during the pendency of the appeal, subject to the appellant furnishing personal bond in the sum of Rs.20,000/- (rupees twenty thousand only) with one surety of the like amount to the satisfaction of the trial Court within a period of four weeks with the conditions that the appellant shall appear in the Court as and when directed and shall surrender to serve out the sentence imposed in case his appeal is ultimately dismissed.
