Section 54(54) in The Railway Protection Force Rules, 1987
54.1The cadre of superior officers of the Force shall be manned by-(a)direct recruits through the Civil Services Examination conducted by the Union Public Service Commission,(b)Promoted from lower ranks or the Force,(c)Deputationists from Indian Police Service and other State Police Services,(d)Occasional admission of other qualified persons on the recommendation of the Union Public Service Commission, who would enter laterally asconsidered necessary from time to, time.
