333. Opening wards at night, precautions to be taken.
- To the door-posts of all sleeping wards shall be affixed a chain with a hook at the free end which can be attached at will to the door, so as to admit or allow the exit of one person at a time and no more. Should it be necessary to open a sleeping ward at night for purposes other than the emergency of fire, prior to unlocking the door the chain should be hooked in. No ward shall be opened at night unless the Deputy Superintendent or Assistant Superintendent and one other officer are present except in the case of fire.
