16. Penalty for accommodating excess number.
- If there is at any time resident in a licensed house a number of persons in excess of the authorized number, the owner of the house shall be liable to a fine not exceeding five rupees for each person so found in excess.Explanation. - In this Section, the expression "authorized number" means the total arrived at by adding the number of pilgrims entered in the licence, to the number of residents to which regard was had under the provisions of sub-section (1) of Section 6.
