Section 41C in THE PUNJAB MUNICIPAL CORPORATION LAW (EXTENSION TO CHANDIGARH) ACT, 1994
41C. Resignation of Chairperson and members of Wards Committee.―
(1)Any member of the Wards Committee, may resign his office by writing under his hand addressed to the Chairperson and delivered to the Commissioner; and the Chairperson may resign his office by writing under his hand addressed to the Mayor and delivered to the Commissioner.(2)A resignation under sub-section (1) shall take effect from the date specified for the purpose in writing referred to in that sub-section, or if no such date is specified, from the date of its receipt by the Chairperson or the Commissioner, whichever is later.
