Queries regarding the old passport bearing no - T 375847
1. whether my old passport was dispatched to me or not
2. If it was dispatched then please furnish the details of dispatch mentioning registered post no date of dispatch name and address of post office.
3. It is not dispatched, can you send the same to my address mentioned above.
Reply of the PIO:
In this connection, you are hereby intimated that on verifying this office record it is verified that your passport application form along with your old passport (bearing No. T3 75847 issued by Passport Office, PATNA) for re-issue get registered in this office by a Authorized Travel Agent (TRAVO TRAVELS) vide above mentioned file reference No. BPL/R003200/2005.
Further, it is also verified from the available record that the same Travel Agent following the routine official process, also collected your old passport (T375 847) from this office at the time of your above mention file registration in this office. You are asked to contact your Travel Agent (TRAVO TRAVELS) for collection of your old passport (T375847).

The following were present Appellant: Mr. Rajesh Kumar;
Respondent: Mr. P. Roychaudhuri, Advocate on behalf of Ms. L. K. Vaghela;
The Respondent states that the old passport of the appellant was given to M/s. TRAVO TRAVELS who is an Authorized Travel Agent of Ministry. The Appellant states that he has not authorized any travel agent. The Commission directs the PIO to send an attested photocopy of the proof of his having received the old passport of the Appellant. If the Travel Agent refuses to give the old passport, the Appellant would be advised file a complaint of this to the Ministry.
Decision:
The Appeal is allowed.
The PIO is directed to provide the information as directed above to the Appellant before 05 April 2012.
This decision is announced in open chamber. Notice of this decision be given free of cost to the parties. Any information in compliance with this Order will be provided free of cost as per Section 7(6) of RTI Act.
