(1)Where, in pursuance of sub-section (3) of Section 8, a highway authority wishes to have a survey made with a view to the preparation or authoritative plan or plans for any highway in its charge, it shall request the State Government in writing to order the survey and appoint a Survey Officer for the purpose.
