Section 231(3) in Chennai City Municipal Corporation Act, 1919
(3)The [standing committee] [Substituted for 'central committee' by Tamil Nadu Act 22 of 1977.] shall consider all objections received within the said period and may then confirm the declaration, and before doing so, may modify it, but not so as to extend its effect.
