Section 127 in Bihar Board's Miscellaneous Rules, 1958

127. [ Order-sheet. [Substituted by C.S. No. 7 dated 27.8.1963.]

- For all records of revenue cases and proceedings there shall be an order-sheet, in the prescribed printed form. In the first column of the order-sheet, which is meant for the entry of the serial number of the order with date, the serial number of the order must invariably, be noted, and below the serial number should be noted not only the date, but also the month and year. In the second column of the order-sheet, the writings in the pen of the clerk, if any, should be confined to a bare statement of facts, or orders of a purely routine character, e.g., "so and so, has petitioned for time" or "so and so has applied for L.l. Loan for such and such amount. Forward the application for enquiry to, so and so", etc., but the effective and operative part of the order must be written out in the officer's own hand or typed to his dictation (to be duly corrected and certified by him) and the officer should sign his name in full and not merely initial below the order. If the officer's signature is not easily legible, he should also write his name in block capitals below the signature so that there is no difficulty in knowing at any time on reference to the order-sheet, which particular officer has passed the order. The slovenly practice, unfortunately increasingly frequent, of initialling only, or of merely noting the date and month (and not the year) in the order-sheet should cease. The third column of the order-sheet meant for noting compliance of the order, must invariably be filled up by noting details of compliance, e.g., number, date, month and year of process issued, or number, date, month and year of the letter despatched and officers should insist on the compliance column being duly and properly filled in, as it will enable the officer-in-charge as well as Inspecting Officers, to see at a glance how promptly or with what laxity, the order passed are complied with, and will serve as a test of the efficiency of the peshi and clerical work.]
