Section 77(2) in The Orissa Municipal Employees' Pension Rules, 1989

(2)In each office of the Council the concerned Executive Officer should specifically be charged with the responsibility for initiating action in due time regarding the completion of pension records and documents. He should have a list prepared in Form No. VI on 1st January, of all employees who will attain the age of superannuation twelve to twenty-four months after the said date. The attention of every employee should be drawn to the provisions of this rule and he should be advised to make a formal application for pension at least one year in advance of the date of his anticipated date of retirement. A copy of the said list should be sent to the Director. Similarly in case of death while in service the concerned Executive Officer should sent intimation regarding the admissibility of family pension to the eligible family members of the deceased employee/pensioner.
