(1)Every person appointed as the Lokpal shall hold office for a term of five years from the date on which he enters upon his office or till the age of seventy years, whichever is earlier. He would be eligible for re-appointment, for another term of five years or less, as the case may be, within the said age limit at the discretion of the State Government :Provided that -(a)the Lokpal may, by writing under his hand addressed to the Governor, resign his office and such resignation shall be effective as soon as it is accepted; and(b)the Lokpal may be removed from the office in the manner specified in Section 7.
