ORDER
Background
1. The RTI application dated 11.6.11 was filed by the Applicant with the PIO, Sr.Divl.Comml.Manager,,DRM Office, Western Railway, Ahmedabad. The Applicant stated that he had appeared for the selection exam for the post of Fitter GradeIII in response to the notification dated 6.12.10, 2.3.11, 7.3.11 and 15.3.11 and that while he was expecting 90% marks in the exam to his surprise he was declared as unsuccessful in it. In this connection he wanted to copy of his answer sheet, copies of answer sheets of 78 successful candidates who had appeared in the above exam, the merit list, their marks etc. The PIO replied on 16.6.11 informing the Applicant that the selection process for the above post is not yet completed. The Applicant then filed his first appeal requesting for the information once again. The Appellate Authority passed an order dated 2.8.11 upholding the decision of the PIO. Thereafter the Appellant filed his second appeal before the CIC once again requesting the Commission to direct the Public Authority to provide him the answer sheets and marks of all the candidates.
Decision :
2. The Commission on perusal of the submissions on record denies supply of copies of answer sheets of other successful candidates to the Appellant as per law which is well settled in this matter, u/s8(1)
(j) of the RTI Act while directing the PIO to provide the information related to the Appellant himself, to the Appellant once the selection process is over. It may also be noted that marks of candidates who have passed the exam as also the merit list may also be supplied to the Appellant once the selection process is completed. The information may be provided within ten days of completion of selection process.
3. The appeal is accordingly disposed of.
