9. [ Probation. [Substituted by G.O. Ms. No. 554, RDLA, dated the 13th April 1983.]
(a)Every person appointed to a class or category by direct recruitment shall, from the date on which he joins duty, be on probation for a total period of two years in duty with in a continuous period of three years.(b)Every person appointed to a class or category by recruitment by transfer shall, from the date on which he joins duty, be on probation for a total period of two years on duty within a continuous period of three years, if the responsibilities of the post to which he is appointed are distinctly of higher order.]
