Section 197(1) in The Chhattisgarh Municipalities Act, 1961
(1)A Council may cause a name to be given to any street, parks and may from time to time cause to be put up or painted on a conspicuous part of any building at or near each end, corner or entrance to every street, the name by which such street is to be known, and may from time to time cause a number to be affixed in a conspicuous part on the outer side of any building or at the entrance of the enclosure thereof fronting the street.
