Section 2(i) in Model Rules, 2011 under Bengal Ferries Act, 1885
(i)"Boat Surveyor means Motor vehicle Inspector , as defined in rule 2 of the Bihar Motor Vehicles rules, 1992 trained in Boat Surveying includes Boat surveyor includes an officer authorized by the District Magistrate to perform the functions of the boat Surveyor, trained in boat Surveying.
