Section 378 in Andhra Pradesh Municipalities Act, 1965
378. Duties of Police Officers.
(1)It shall be the duty of every police officer:(a)to communicate without delay to the proper municipal officer any information which he receives of the design to commit or of the commission of any offence under this Act or any rule, bye-law or regulation made under it, and(b)to assist the Chairperson, the Commissioner or any municipal officer or employee reasonably demanding his aid for the lawful exercise of any power vesting in the Chairperson or the Commissioner or in such municipal officer or employee under this Act, or any such rule, bye-law or regulation.(2)Any police officer who omits or refuses to perform any duty imposed on him by this Act shall be deemed to have committed an offence under the law governing the police force for the time being in force.
