ORDER
The grounds raised in the present writ petition, challenging the transfer order dated 19.11.2019, made on administrative ground, are not sufficient to entertain a writ petition under Article 226 of the Constitution of India. 1/4 http://www.judis.nic.in W.P.(MD) No.25343 of 2019
2.By touching upon the merits of the case, the learned counsel appearing for the petitioner would place reliance on various grounds, stating that there is no reason assigned for a zonal transfer and that the order is being passed by way of punishment. He would also state that the petitioner is a deserted woman and would find to difficult to travel to Thanjore.
3.The order impugned reveals that the transfer is being made on administrative ground and as such, it is not incumbent on the part of the respondent to assign the reason for making any zonal transfer. It is not in dispute that the respondent possesses the authority to make a zonal transfer. While that being so, the first ground raised by the petitioner cannot be sustained. Secondly, when the order states that the transfer is being made on administrative ground and there is no indication in the impugned transfer order that the decision could have been taken on punitive measure, the apprehension of the petitioner that the transfer is being made by way of punishment also cannot be sustained. Thirdly, the ground that the petitioner is a destitute lady also does not deserve consideration in the absence of any rules or regulations, entitling such a person to seek for cancellation of a transfer order. Since the grounds raised by the petitioner herein are not sufficient enough for this Court to invoke its extraordinary powers under 2/4 http://www.judis.nic.in W.P.(MD) No.25343 of 2019 Article 226 of the Constitution of India, I do not find any merits to interfere with the impugned order.
4.The Writ Petition stands closed accordingly. No costs. Consequently, connected miscellaneous petitions are closed.
