Section 38(1) in The Tamil Nadu Town Panchayats, Third Grade Municipalities, Municipalities and Corporations (Elections) Rules, 2006
(1)Each contesting candidate or his election agent may appoint one polling agent and one or two relief polling agents as may be specified by the State Election Commission, from time to time, to act as the polling agent of such candidate at each polling station.
