(1)This Act may be called the Bengal Public Parks Act, 1904.(2)It applies to the public parks and gardens mentioned in the Schedule, and may be applied to any other public park or garden in [West Bengal, Bihar or that part of Orissa which on the ninth day of March, 1904 was included in Bengal] [Words substituted for the word 'Bengal' by the Indian Independence (Adaptation of Bengal and Punjab Acts) Order, 1948.] by order of the [State Government] [Words 'Provincial Government' first substituted for the words 'Local Government' by the Government of India (Adaptation of Indian Laws) Order, 1937, and thereafter the word 'State' substituted for the word 'Provincial' by the Adaptation of Laws Order, 1950.] published in the [Official Gazette] [Words substituted for the words 'Calcutta Gazette' by the Government of India (Adaptation of Indian Laws) Order, 1937.].
