(2)The Director General of police shall be appointed from a panel of officers, already working in the rank of the Director General of Police, or the officers, who have been found suitable for promotion in the rank of Director General of Police, after screening by a Committee, as constituted by the Government;Provided that the number of officers in the panel shall not exceed three times the number of cadre posts, sanctioned for the rank of Director General of Police in the State.
