1. The present writ petition has been filed seeking setting aside of the impugned order dated 9th April, 2026 (sic: 7th April, 2026) passed by the Election Committee, Bar Council of Delhi.
2. This is the second round of writ petition. Earlier, the writ petition had been filed challenging the order passed by the Returning Officer on 20th March, 2026.
3. The earlier writ petition was disposed of on 2nd April, 2026, passing the following directions:
"3. In the impugned communication dated 20th March, 2026, the Returning Officer, who is a former Judge of this Court, has assured the candidates/ petitioners that reconciliation of all votes shall take place after the counting process is over.
4. In my considered view, no grounds for interference with the aforesaid decision are made out. The grievance of the candidates/ petitioners has been adequately addressed by the Returning Officer that the reconciliation process will be carried out once the process of counting is over and before the results are declared.
5. Needless to state, the results of the elections shall be declared only after the reconciliation process is conducted.
6. The petitioners submit that upon conclusion of round 1 of the counting, certain candidates would be eliminated and therefore, reconciliation exercise should be carried out after round 1 of the counting.
7. Let a representation be made by the petitioners in this regard before the Returning Officer."
4. Pursuant to the aforesaid directions, the petitioners filed a representation with the Election Committee, which has been decided by the W.P.(C) 4907/2026 Page 2 of 4 This is a digitally signed order.

A perusal of the aforesaid extracts from the impugned order clearly shows that the apprehension of the petitioners with regard to the elimination process has been adequately addressed by the Election Committee stating that results shall not be declared before the reconciliation process is completed.
7. The respondents shall remain bound by the aforesaid.
8. At the time when the reconciliation process takes place, the candidates or their authorized representative shall be permitted to be present in the same manner as they were permitted to be present in the counting process.
9. In view thereof, the present writ petition is disposed of.
10. Needless to state, all rights and contentions of the petitioners are kept open.
11. Mr. T. Singh Dev, counsel appearing on behalf of respondent no.1/ Bar Council of Delhi objects to the maintainability of the present petition.
