Section 153(d) in Police Regulations, Calcutta, 1968
(d)Corrections shall be attested by the officers making them and shall be made by drawing a line through the mistake so as to leave the word corrected legible and by writing the correct word afterwards or in the margin. A piece of paper shall not be pasted over a mistake.
