Background:
Shri Puneet Gupta of Ahmedabad filed an RTI-application on 9 August 2007 with the Public Information Officer, Guru Gobind Singh Indraprastha University, Delhi, seeking information relating to the courses of M.Sc. (Environmental Management), BBA, etc.
2. The PIO vide his letter dated 12 September 2007 replied to the RTI- application. Not satisfied with the reply of the PIO, the Appellant filed an appeal with the first Appellate Authority on 10 September 2007 who vide his letter dated 27 September 2007 replied to his First Appeal. Thereafter, the Appellant approached the Central Information Commission with a Second Appeal on 18 December 2007.
3. The Bench of Dr. O.P. Kejariwal, Information Commissioner, heard the matter on 2 July 2008.
4. Shri Pankaj Agrawal, Addl. Deputy Registrar & PIO, Shri Ajay Kumar, S.O., represented the Respondents.
5. The Appellant, Shri Puneet Gupta, was present through audio conference.
Decision:
6. The Commission heard both the sides: the Appellant through audio conference and noted that the Respondents had replied in detail to all the queries raised by the Appellant. They further informed him that most of the information asked for was already available on their website (www.ip.ac.in). The Appellant on the other hand pointed out to the lacunae that he noticed in their reply vide his letter dated 15 October 2007. The Respondents stated that they had gone through this and had addressed themselves to each of these queries to their best of their ability. They, in fact, produced before the Commission a copy of the replies that they had sent. However, as the Appellant still seemed dissatisfied with the information sent, the Commission directs him to specify the items on which he would like clarifications/further information. The Respondents will get 20 working days to provide the clarifications to the Appellant. However, the case may be treated as finally closed in case there is no communication from the Appellant by 25 July 2008.
7. The case is thus disposed of.
