Section 12(1) in The Maharashtra Village Panchayats Act, 1959
(1)The electoral roll of the [Maharashtra Legislative Assembly] [These words were substituted for the words 'Bombay Legislative Assembly' by the Maharashtra Adaptation of Laws (State and Concurrent Subjects) Order, 1960] prepared under the provisions of the Representation of the People Act, 1950, and in force on such day as [the State Election Commissioner may by order] [These words were substituted for the words 'the Slate Government may by general or special order' by Maharashtra 52 of 1994, Section 4.] notify in this behalf for such part of the constituency of the Assembly as is included in a ward or a village shall be the list of voters of such ward or village.
