(1)The State Government may appoint a Legal Ad-visor to assist and aid the Director General of Police on legal matters in the discharge of his duties and functions.(2)The State Government shall also ensure that every District Police Unit and every City Police Commissioner-ate is provided with one or more Legal Ad-visor to advise the police on legal issues and matters on the adequacy or otherwise of available evidence in various cases investigated by them. The police shall take necessary action on such advice before submitting the charge sheets in the cases.
