Facts:
1. The Appellant Shri Kumar Roshan vide his RTI application dated 12.3.2009 sought information regarding death claim in respect of LIC Policy No. 534885210 from CPIO, LIC of India, Muzaffarpur.
2. The CPIO vide his order dated 20.3.2009, a copy of which has not been submitted along with Second appeal. The appellant too appears not to have received the order of the CPIO and he preferred appeal before the FAA who disposed of the matter vide his order dated 14.5.2009 in which he informed that the correct policy number was 534885210. Also that a payment has been approved for principal insured amount on exgratia basis and asked appellant to submit for certain vouchers for releasing the payment. He also provided additional information in respect of the said policy as also on volume of business conducted by the branch as sought in his RTI application.
3. Not being satisfied and being aggrieved by the decision the appellant preferred 2nd. Appeal before the Commission.
4. The matter was heard today. Both parties were present and made their submissions before the commission. It was stated by the respondents that an internal investigation had brought out certain discrepancies in the age of the insured. Appellant stated that he believed that Corporation had undertaken 4 enquiries on the subject and pleaded that copies of the 4 reports should be provided to him. The respondents stated that only 2 enquiries were conducted by the Branch Manager and reports have been filed on 6.12.2005 and 12.3.2009.
5. The appellant made certain sweeping remarks regarding holding back of payment due to policy holder even after it became due.
6. The appellant stated that he received variant replies from the respondents in respect of two RTIs put in by him on the same subject.
Decision
7. It is directed that the respondents may provide copy of the reports mentioned above based on enquiry held by the Corporation to the appellant. They may also re visit the response of the CPIO who had provided variant information to the appellant on the same subject in response to two RTI applications submitted by him.
8. A copy of the CPIO's order dated 20.3.2009 may also be provided to the appellant.
9. The above information may be provided within 2 weeks of the receipt of this order.
10. With these directions the matter is closed at the Commission's end.
