44. Diaries.
- Collectors are required to submit monthly, or less frequently, as may be prescribed by the Commissioner, diaries of their tours. These should be written by the Collectors themselves on half margin in a bound book and copies should be submitted to the Commissioner on half margin. The Commissioner will record orders on the margin and return the paper to the Collector for information and return (to Commissioner's office), or retain it in his office, forwarding only copies of his orders as in each case may be most convenient. The Collector will then cause the Commissioner's remarks, if any, to be entered on the margin of his original diary book. Should the Collector happen to accompany the Commissioner on any tour, no diary will be required.
