Section 11(1) in The Merchant Shipping (Fire Appliances) Rules, 1969
(1)Every ship of Class I of 4,000 tons and above shall be provided with at least three independently driven power-operated fire pumps and every such ship of less than 4,000 tons, shall be provided with at least two such fire pumps and all such fire pumps together shall be capable of delivering for fire fighting purposes, a quantity of water under the conditions and at the pressure specified in rule 33.
