23. Special Provisions for Senior Citizens.
- i. The premium charged for health insurance products offered by Life Insurers, General Insurers and Health Insurers to senior citizens shall be fair, justified, transparent and duly disclosed upfront. [***] [Omitted 'The insured shall be informed in writing of any underwriting loading charged as filed and approved under the Product Filing Guidelines over and above the premium and specific consent of the policyholder for such loadings shall be obtained before issuance of a policy' by Notification No. F.No. IRDAI/Reg/14/165/2019, dated 19.11.2019 (w.e.f 12.7.2016).].ii. All Life Insurers, General Insurers and Health insurers and TPAs, as the case may be, shall establish a separate channel to address the health insurance related claims and grievances of senior citizens.
