(d)to hold examinations for, and to grant and confer degrees, diplomas, certificates and other academic distinctions to, and on persons, who-(i)have pursued a course of study in the University, constituent or affiliated colleges; or(ii)have carried on research in the University, constituent or affiliated colleges;
