Section 12(1) in The Jai Narain Vyas University Jodhpur Act, 1962
(1)The Vice- Chancellor shall be the principal executive and academic officer of the University, and shall, in the absence of the Chancellor, preside at meetings of the Senate and at any convocation of the University. He shall be an ex-officio member and Chairman of the Syndicate and the Academic Council. He shall have the right to speak in, and to take part in the proceedings of the meetings of any other authority or body of the University but shall not nearly by virtue of this sub-section, be entitled to vote thereat.
