Section 32 in The Merchant Shipping (Registration of Indian Ships) Rules, 1960
32. Change of name of a Company.
- Where a company in whose name a ship has been registered under these rules has changed its name subsequent to registration, the registrar shall, on production of the certificate of incorporation relating to the new name make a note of the change of name in the register book in respect of each ship owned by the company; every such change of name shall be reported to the Directorate General by the registrar.
