Section 15(1)(a) in The Assam Co-operative Societies Rules, 1953

(a)Application fee. - Every applicant for admission as a member must agree to pay an application fee as may be prescribed in the bye-laws; but such fee shall not be less than eight annas or exceed two rupees.
