FINAL ORDER
FACTS:
1. The appellant on 11.06.2015 sought information relating to one Smt. Sumathi Ravichandran gone on deputation to Regional Passport office Chennai and was arrested by CBI, information sought is, reasons for appointment of Smt. Sumathi Ravichandran ignoring the criminal corruption charges; reasons for her transfer to Chennai and again to Kerala circle as director foreign Post; Copy of the CBI orders directing the Department of posts to take disciplinary actions; name address of the inquiry officer; No. of sittings with date and place and copy of the report. On 17.09.2014 CPIO refused to provide information stating that it violates Section 8(h) of RTI Act 2005. The appellant on 22.12.2015 appealed to the Commission to give justice by providing the information sought.
Decision :
2. The appellant complained that Smt. Sumathi Ravichandran who was sent to Regional Passport office, Chennai on deputation was arrested by CBI for corruption charges and wanted to know the process and reasons for appointment of Smt. Sumathi Ravichandran. He also wanted to know if any further action or suspension of services had taken place.
3. The Commission directs the Post Master General, Kerala to inform the appellant the latest status of investigation against Smt. Sumathi Ravichandran CIC/BS/A/2016/000394 Page 1 and about the consequential actions taken against her, if any, within 21 days from date of receipt of this order. Disposed of.
