Section 22 in Telecommunication (Broadcasting and Cable) Services (Eighth) (Addressable Systems) Tariff Order, 2017

22. Broadcasters are also required to obtain permission from Ministry of Information and Broadcasting (MIB) before broadcasting their channels in India in accordance with the Policy guidelines for downliking of television channels dated 5th December, 2011 issued by MIB. The clause 5.10 of the said policy guidelines clearly states as under:

"The company/channel shall adhere to the norms, rules and regulations prescribed by any regulatory authority set up to regulate and monitor the Broadcast Services in the country."
