Section 28A(1) in Karnataka Urban Water Supply and Drainage Board Act, 1973
(1)Notwithstanding anything contained in this Act or in any other law for the time being in force, if in the opinion of the Government it is expedient in public interest so to do, it may, by order, direct the Board to investigate, prepare, and execute any scheme in any local area and, subject to such terms and conditions as it may specify, to operate and maintain all works connected with such scheme. The cost relating to such scheme shall be borne by the Board and it shall operate and maintain all works connected with such scheme and collect necessary water rates, rentals, fees and other charges relating thereto.
