Section 6 in The Bengal Medical Act, 1914

6. Disqualifications for being elected or nominated a member.

- A person shall be disqualified for being elected or nominated a member of the Council if he-
(a)is not registered under this Act; or
(b)has been sentenced by any Court for any non-bailable offence, such sentence not having been subsequently reversed or quashed, and such person's disqualification on account of such sentence not having been removed by an order which the [State Government] [Words 'Provincial Government' first substituted for the words 'Local Government' by the Government of India (Adaptation of Indian Laws) Order, 1937, then again the word 'State' substituted for the word 'Provincial' by the Adaptation of Laws Order, 1950.] [is] [Word substituted for the word 'are' by the Government of India (Adaptation of Indian Laws) Order, 1937.] hereby empowered to make, if [it thinks] [Words substituted for the words 'they think' by the Government of India (Adaptation of Indian Laws) Order, 1937.] fit, in this behalf; [* * *] [Word 'or' omitted by West Bengal Act 11 of 1950.]
(c)is an undischarged insolvent; [(or)] [Word inserted by West Bengal Act 11 of 1950.]
